My daughter never cheered before; will she be able to participate?

Yes, everyone cheers as long as they fulfill the age requirements.

What level will my cheerleader be placed on?

Your daughter will be placed on a squad according to her birth date. The cutoff day is July 31st of each year. IE: if your daughter is 11 on 7/31/10, she will be placed on the 11 and under squad.

Is there competitive selection or is the group open to all applicants?

Everyone cheers, no tryouts or special selection.

What is included in the registration fee?

Registration covers uniform rental, insurance fees, competition fees, crop top

What are your fundraising expectations of members?

Each child is expected to sell $100 in raffle tickets for homecoming, in the middle of the season. (20 tickets $5 each)

When are the games, practices, and other team meetings? Are there any conflicts with school which must be resolved?

Practices are Monday -Thursday from 6-8 for the first month and Tuesday & Thursday once school starts from 6-8. Practices are at Community during the first month and we go inside to the local schools once it starts getting cold outside. Our games are on weekends either Saturday or Sunday, but we will not have a firm schedule until late August or early September. We never conflict with school, unless the team goes to Florida of course.

If you repeat your success and go to competition in Orlando or elsewhere, what costs are likely to be involved?

Costs will vary, but the average is about $750 per girl to travel, but teams are able to fund raise to help alleviate the costs.

Are there any specific requirements which the physical exam must cover?

Each child needs a current physical examination on file.

How many competitions do the girls participate in?

9 and under squads compete in one competition, 10 and older will compete in at least two and possibly three if they advance to nationals.

What should my daughter wear to practice?

Coordinating apparel will be made available for your purchase in May. If you choose not to purchase the apparel, you can purchase any blue cotton shorts and a white plain t-shirt for your daughter.

What kind of shoes are required?

Competition shoes are made available to purchase for the competing squads. These shoes are only to be worn to practice and not outside until after competition. For games, any solid white pair of gym shoes will work. If your daughter is a flyer, please make sure the shoes are not bulky.

How do I care for the uniform?

All uniforms are professionally laundered at the end of the season. Your daughter should not eat or drink anything except water while wearing her uniform. If you must have the uniform cleaned during the season, please take it to your local cleaners and have it professionally laundered not dry cleaned.

It's cold, rainy, or snowing, do we have to cheer?

Yes, if the football players are playing, we are cheering. Please dress your daughter appropriately for the weather.

Do we have to travel to other towns?

Yes, the ARC is part of the UYF and we must travel to other towns.

Can my daughter cheer for her brother who is on another level?

As much as we would love to accommodate everyone, we cannot make any special arrangements of the squads. The girls will be placed on teams according to their ages and the squads will cheer for the appropriate football level.
